Our Story

The Black Santa Project | est. 2021

In 2021, our founder The Honorable Auon’tai Anderson received a call from brother jeff of the brother jeff Cultural Center asking for a “Black Santa” to support a local toy giveaway sponsored by Montbello Walks. With only a red Nike sweatsuit, Auon’tai headed to Party City to find a Santa beard and hat. Organically at the same time, Ms. Pam Jiner (Montbello Walks) needed to find a home for all of the excess toys she had in stock. Little did we know, this simple act would blossom into an annual event and birth The Black Santa Project.

Our Partners

Since its inception in 2021, the Black Santa Project has proudly partnered with numerous organizations to advance our mission of creating joy, fostering community, and addressing critical needs during the holiday season. These collaborations have been instrumental in helping us provide meaningful support and resources to families and individuals, ensuring the spirit of giving reaches everyone, especially those who are often overlooked.

In 2024, we reached an exciting new milestone by expanding our network of partners to unprecedented levels. This growth has enabled us to broaden our impact, deepen our connections within the community, and take our initiatives to greater heights. With each new partner, we bring fresh energy, ideas, and resources to the table, allowing the Black Santa Project to touch even more lives.

We are grateful for the enduring support of our partners and look forward to continuing this journey of service and celebration together. The future is bright, and we are excited to see what we can accomplish as we grow this remarkable community effort.

Our Family is so extremely blessed and thankful that you guys chose our family for a special gift. We can't express how much we truly appreciate it. This holiday season has been really stressful for us and we were really struggling to get our children what they wanted for Christmas but thanks to you guys and your organization we were able to fulfill our kids wishes, so thank you very much for that. Our three kids were so excited to open their gifts on Christmas morning! We just can't express our gratitude to you guys for everything you did for us.
